From the John Hancock Center and McCormick Place to Trump International and the Willis Tower, Chicago has the architecture and engineering titan Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to thank for some of its most iconic buildings. SOM recently released a time lapse video of the 650-some construction projects that, over the decades, have transformed Chicago’s skyline. The video runs from 1936, when the Chicago-based firm got its start, up to 2014, and highlights many of the 75 SOM projects in the heart of the downtown. [Facebook, Curbed]
