Yesterday, an ULI  Chicago breakfast panel at the Union League Club discussed retail development. The danger is discussing retail over waffles: everyone left eager to open Vermont maple syrup shops.

We know why Crown Commercial Real Estate Development's Peter Vitale  appears to be dreaming (besides our bright flash). He's working on a new food desert solution project on the South Side at 115th and Michigan Avenue; it's been in the works for five years and breaks ground in 2010. He's with Crown Advisors' Rikke Vognsen and  and US Equities' Martin Stern. The crowning achievement of this photo? The two Crowns aren't related.

DLA Piper's Richard Klawiter  enjoyed a big breakfast with Newcastle Limited's Michael Haney  and Zifkin Realty Group's Sarah Moberg. Sarah is marketing a restaurant or retail space at 5419 N. Clark Street in the Andersonville neighborhood. It's currently home to Stargaze restaurant and bar.
