Trifecta!

AMLI Residential's Greg Mutz says three conditions today are as strong and positive for multifamily development and acquisitions as they've been in the past 30 years.

These factors combine to create the perfect environment for apartment ownership and increasing apartment valuations: 1) strong population growth with demographic characteristics that favor renting versus owning; 2) reduced new supply of all kinds of housing units, including the supply of new apartment communities; and 3) a pronounced drop in the percentage of households that want to own versus rent. Today's renters are focused on a number of desired factors and are willing to pay reasonable rent for convenience, high-quality interior finishes, a strong location, and high-class amenities. This is why AMLI is incorporating into AMLI River North and AMLI Evanston (407 and 214 units, planned to break ground this summer) high-end finishes, luxury amenity space, convenient access to public transportation, and LEED certified construction. For plenty more specifics, Greg is speaking at Bisnow's second annual Multifamily Summit on Friday. (Sign up!)
