In an age where CoStar and LoopNet are dominating how companies find information, Paine/Wetzel ONCOR-International is still keeping its own databases, says partner Ed Wabick. Ed's been with Paine/Wetzel for 21 years, and tells us he loves the way the company builds not just its knowledge base but its client relationships: He once spent five years working with a client on a build-to-suit. Each of Paine/Wetzel's  32 brokers has an area of responsibility, or a specific corridor that they know absolutely everything about, Ed says. That's how its been keeping alive during the recession; in fact, it just completed a 260k-SF lease to Roosevelt Paper Company  in Alsip, combining two buildings into one. Ed (whom we snapped with Jim ?Moose? Swartchild) tells us real estate permeates almost every aspect of his life; he even spends weekends meeting or hanging out with clients.
