Partners Paul Meyer  and Jeff Usow have worked at the Mayer Brown?s Real Estate group for 22 and 13 years respectively, spanning local, national, and international work. Paul is currently working on several joint ventures in Mexico and a medical office building in Chicago, while Jeff is working on a storage portfolio in Texas, a commercial property in New York City, and a resort property in Mexico. During tough economic times, they say the firm has shifted priorities to handle more workouts and REOs.

 

Paul and Jeff say Mayer Brown attorneys have adjusted into doing a lot of transactions that are not purely real estate, such as bankruptcy and property tax issues. Their personal interests are as varied as the practice: Jeff enjoys supporting his wife?s modern dance company and attending his daughter's sporting events, Paul?s a traveler (just got back from Dubai).
