Plans for an "origami"-like office tower in the Loop would include a fifth floor skygarden and a street level plaza, developers told neighbors in plans presented Monday. The tower proposed for 130 N Franklin St could be over 51 stories, DNAinfo reports. The developer, Tishman Speyer, shared plans with community members Monday night at a meeting hosted by Ald. Brenand Reilly (42nd). The Loop parcel of land has been vacant since 2003, but was once home to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Henry Crown & Co. In addition to a skygarden, the proposal includes a 190-car garage and a glass facade "distorted" to reduce the chances of bird collisions.
