At BOMA/Suburban Chicago’s annual expo at Drury Lane in Oak Brook on Wednesday, we snapped Hyatt's Frank Buchberger, second from left, talkin' produce (yes, as in your veggies) with Ground Pros Inc.'s Jim Plona, Michael Pezza, and Gina Pezza. Ground Pros is building a roof garden on Frank's Hyatt Regency Woodfield Schaumburg, which will grow vegetables and herbs for the hotel's Fresh 1800 restaurant. Frank's hoping the yield will be enough to fill most of the restaurant's produce requirements. If it works, Hyatts across the country may plant their own. We prefer a chocolate on the pillow, but admit we’ve never considered a rutabaga. | |
CBRE's Cara Ursetta and Jacqueline Raimondo flank J.C. Restoration's Michael Collins. Cara and Jacqueline just struck LEED-Silver for their 700 Commerce Drive in Oak Brook. Michael was working on restoring two industrial buildings, in Chicago and Kenosha, which were recently damaged in fires. He tells us cleaning the smoke damage should net him $1.5 million. |
