| What was once a long-term vacant lot in Humboldt Park is now Chicago's newest LEED affordable housing. Alderman Walter Burnett, Pioneer Engineering's Boyd Raveling, and Gov. Pat Quinn were on hand for the opening of the 94-unit, eight-building project last week. Bickerdike Redevelopment used solar panels, geothermal heating, and a vegetative roof to help earn LEED Silver. The project has already won the Chicago Association of Realtors' Good Neighbor Award and the Entreprise Green Communities Award. |
