Walmart can't open new locations in Chicago fast enough, so they're putting in a Walmart Express at 83rd and Stewart Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood, our sources confirmed for us today.
 
The mini 10kSF store is meant to eliminate some the food desertSouth Side residents are feeling due to lack of grocery stores. The big box retailer hasn't determined whether the store will be convenience items only or also include produce, our source tells us. The Super Walmart in Chatham Market is slated to open fall 2012. The Walmart Express should open before then.
