Renaissance Man

You may know someone who likes to develop buildings, but McShane Development's new president Tom D'Alesandro likes to develop whole city centers. Tom joined McShane three months ago after starting his career developing a downtown plan for Reston, Va, right out of college. Since then, Tom has made the rounds through Texas and Georgia, as well as a previous stint in Chicago. He was drawn to McShane for its diversity: The company develops about one-third medical office buildings, one-third multi-family developments and one-third industrial properties. He's also been able to keep going to Texas, where he was previoiusly building a neighborhood plan for 90,000 population Woodlands.
