NU Sports Complex for the Wildcats

Go Wildcats—into a new space! Northwestern University plans to invest in the future of its sports teams by continuing to grow the Lakefront Athletics and Recreation Complex on its Evanston campus with a new, $220M sports complex, reports Curbed. The new Ryan Fieldhouse—designed by Perkins+Will and named for top donors Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan—will have a full-sized indoor athletic field and will include a large, indoor multi-purpose facility, portable seating for 1,000 spectators, three basketball courts, an indoor running track, locker rooms, sports medicine facilities and renovations to the nearby soccer and lacrosse fields. The complex is expected to be completed by spring 2016. [Curbed]
