Making the Green

Last night, the Chicago chapter of the USGBC held its bi-monthly business meeting at the newly renovated space at 222 W. Hubbard. Shaw Contract Group's Ashley Laughner, Doris Conant and husband  Howard, Urban Innovation's Jo Anne Gottfried, and Mercantile Property Group's Peter Vitale were on hand. Jo Anne's company was showing off the new 58k-SF building. (Space available.)
 

Chapter prez Joseph Clare  announced that a new branch of USGBC will soon be forming in Rockford. In addition, the Chicago chapter will be hosting GreenBuild 2010, so the group is starting to look for volunteers. The chapter has grown from just a handful of members nearly a decade ago to almost 200 attendees today, but it's still one of the only business meetings where you can drink beer (notice Joseph's 312 on the podium). For those wondering how they plan on luring those volunteers, perhaps that's your answer.
