Last night, CRE folks filled the ballroom at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, raising $467,000 on the spot for the City of Hope’s fight against cancer. And Lori Healey received the Chicago Construction and Real Estate Council’s Spirit of Life Award for professional and humanitarian accomplishments worthy of celebration.
 
Lori’s career has seen a success in both the public and private sectors, including a stint as Mayor Daley’s chief of staff and president of Chicago’s Olympic bid. This summer, she became CEO of Tur Partners, Daley’s investment firm, after a three-year stint in charge of business development for the John Buck Co.
 
We snapped Golub Co principal Lee Golub, who oversees the company’s US division, and W.E. O’Neil SVP Lou Reiner. Golub just moved to new digs at 1245 W Washington from 2751 N Clybourn. The construction company had been in its previous location for 86 years. Recent rapid growth, Lou says, was the cause.
 
Fifth Third Bank VP Charles Krawitz, with his wife Laiyew, tells us that after a few years of overseeing distressed asset dispositions, he’s national director of the bank's new Correspondent Products Group. Charles says CMBS has been reborn as a more prudent funding source, with bond buyers once again attracted to the yields.
