Logan Square residents concerned about the ongoing rush of development in their neighborhood overwhelmingly approved a referendum Tuesday favoring enforcing historic preservation statutes intended to protect the neighborhood's character. Nearly 93% of 32nd Ward voters approved the non-binding referendum.
Logan Square Preservation launched a petition drive to include the measure on the ballot. The group is concerned about city zoning policies, especially those pertaining to demolition, as developers swarm to Logan Square seeking opportunities, according to DNAInfo.
