Barbara Millicent Roberts (“Barbie” to generations of fans) is finally upgrading her iconic pink home via a competition of the nation’s top architects being managed by none other than the American Institute of Architects. The new digs are part of Barbie’s latest incarnation as an architect. Sources tell us it’s not an easy task designing a home suitable for Barbie’s extensive wardrobe, her myriad pink vehicles, and all 40 of her pets, but the AIA has narrowed the designs down to five finalists. Yesterday, they opened the competition to public vote. (No word yet on whether Ken Carson will be joining Barbie in this move. Neither could be reached for comment.) |
