Fifield Cos and Wood Partnersare starting construction this month on K2, the final apartment building in the K Station complex. It'll be built on a one-acre site at 365 N Halsted St; the 34-story apartment tower will include 496 units and 348 parking spaces. Fifield principal Randy Fifield says K Station, which first broke ground seven years ago, has filled the demand for luxury apartments during the housing downturn. McHugh Construction is the general contractor and Pappageorge/Haymes is the architect; financing came from a consortium of banks including The PrivateBank. |
