From Freshii to Mooyah, new franchises aresetting up shop in Chicago, hoping to be the next set of Golden Arches on every street corner.

Our reporters on the ground at ICSC in Las Vegas spoke with Transwestern SVP Patrick Owens (with SVP Shannon Pope), who's seeing more franchise opportunities and a much more entrepreneurial market today than in past years. One client owns 18 Dunkin' Donuts and has an affiliation with three brands including Mooyah and Jersey Mike's. He has also finished a few deals (with more coming) for Dallas-based Dickey's Barbecue.
