| With an increasing number of food companies moving their offices to the Chicago suburbs, some are finding creative solutions to combining their offices and kitchen space. Armour-Eckrich just opened its new HQ in Lisle and hired Interform Architects, Clune Construction, and Studley's Rich Dale as the project manager to build out this demo kitchen/conference room in its 20k at 4225 N Naperville Rd (where we snapped Interform's Allan Mellske). The company is consolidating space from another location in Lisle and one in Cinncinati. |
| Allan says the project was especially difficult because the kitchen required 400 linear feet of black iron ductwork to get the exhaust out of the kitchen. The building is post-tensioned concrete, so the floors had to be x-rayed and surgically cut to ensure the structural soundness of the building. The meat company will use the new space for sales pitches to stores and restaurants. |
