...YES Conservation's Mitch Furlett  and GSY Energy's Andre De Rosa  and James Middleton about the resources they're working to save with new products. The trio spoke yesterday at the Institute of Real Estate Managemen t, where Mitch demonstrated how cheap it is to save water by handing out low-flow shower heads as part of the event?s gift bag. James says you can recoup the cost of a new lighting system now in less than two years with savings from installing low-energy lighting.  And Andre pointed out that Chicago doesn't actually live up to its nickname unless you count its rooftops, which fortunately register a 6 out of 10 on how much wind power a turbine can generate.
 

Happy Anniversary! Vranas & Chioros Realty Group's John Vranas  celebrated 20 years of being a CPM at yesterday's luncheon. We snapped him with Landscape Concepts Management's George Markoutsas  and Melissa Scherb, who are excited about new Elly planters, which they've been using to enhance the environmental friendliness of their landscape design. The pots are made of a plastic that biodegrades quickly, so they can plant the whole thing in the ground quickly without damaging the soil.
