| LEED Silver isn't so unusual anymore, but when an iconic public building nabs it, that's worth a few lines. Recently MB Real Estate was presented the Leadership in Property Management Excellence award as part of the city’s Green Office Challenge for its efforts at the Richard J. Daley Center, which recently won Silver for Existing Buildings-Operation and Maintenance. Modifications made to the 1.6M SF building's lighting system have resulted in a 54% reduction of electricity usage, and changes to the plumbing systems have cut water usage by 70%.
