We took a break from real estate last night and are still flying high from seeing Sir Paul McCartney at the United Center. We know there are lots of Beatles fans out there and wanted to share our experience; to be in his presence was completely surreal, and Paul delivered for almost three hours. Everyone has Beatles stories that the music reminds them of, and for us it was buying Help as our first CD and practicing the lyrics of "I've Just Seen A Face" until they were perfect. Paul's setlist had so many Beatles gems ("Let It Be," "Hey Jude," "Blackbird," "Yesterday"), along with Wings hits and new material that shows he can still deliver pop and gritty rock in equal measure.

Thanks to your Chicago reporter's mom and her iPhone, we have videos of "And I Love Her" and "Live And Let Die," which featured heart-stopping pyrotechnics that even blew Paul's hair back onstage. Our favorite, though it's impossible to pick one, was "Maybe I'm Amazed," written for his late wife, Linda. Tributes to John and George were also included in the setlist, and footage from A Hard Day's Night felt so melancholy when we imagined the full band still around (and giving the Stones a run for their money). There's nobody like Paul, and the charming goofball is still making ladies swoon at 72. Not bad, Macca. Were you there?
