Chicago-based Magellan Development Group is set to present plans for what could become the third tallest skyscraper in Chicago, in a community meeting on Monday, April 13. The 88-story, Jeanne Gang-designed hotel-and-condo tower planned for 381-383 East Wacker Dr in Lakeshore East was introduced last year. If approved, it would be surpassed in height only by Willis Tower and Trump International Hotel & Tower, DNAinfo reports. Previous plans reveal a 390-unit condo, a 250-room hotel and retail space. The development is backed by Beijing-based conglomerate Wanda Group, which is investing $900M into the project, quite possibly the largest ever real estate investment in Chicago by a Chinese company. Magellan is the master developer of Lakeshore East and controls the vacant development site. [DNAinfo]
