For the second year in a row, Chicago leads the pack in business expansion projects, reports JLL Research. Site Selection Magazine credits the city’s international accessibility and logistical assets with drawing 385 major corporate investment projects last year, earning it the title of “Top Metro.” World Business Chicago estimates that expansions created 21,000 new jobs, and brought nearly $6.8B in capital investment to the city in 2014. A large chunk of that money came from out-of-towners in 36 different states and 23 foreign countries. Not too shabby. [JLL]
