The John Buck Company won the real estate division while SRBL won the architect division and the championship. We got a post-game shot of Gensler's Ampy Martinez, Greg Huette, Amanda Chandler, Scott Hurst, and Rita Radley. They lost early in the tournament, but they recently won a job at Fourth Presbyterian Church just off of Michigan Avenue, where they're designing a new 80k-SF learning center. They've also landed a contract to design the James Bond Museum in Momence, IL. | |
VOA faced off against Clune Construction in the quarterfinals. The five for fighting penalty wasn't five minutes, but five times being spun in your chair. VOA didn't report any injuries, which is good since it’s working on a new mini-city near Hong Kong, where it’ll design eight new buildings. Shen Zhen will include office and multifamily towers. | |
On the sidelines, we chatted with Newmark Knight Frank's Niki Stathos, Rex Electric's Joe Sergi, and Cushman & Wakefield's Aaron Block. Niki just moved from the furniture industry into repping retail landlords and loves it so far. Joe's also new to Rex, doing work as a project estimator. | |
