The Clock Facade On The Chicago Board Of Trade Building
GlenStar's renovations to the Board of Trade Building haven't been limited to what's inside the Art Deco landmark. For the first time in 40 years, the BOT's iconic clock will light up at night.
The 13-foot clock has always been functional, but crews have spent hours cleaning, painting and rewiring the vintage timepiece to restore it to its original glory. The clock is flanked by a Mesopotamian farmer holding a sheaf of wheat on the left, and a Native American holding an ear of corn on the right.
BOT building VP Michael Giese says the clock restoration is part of GlenStar's ongoing efforts to restore the building, which have cost over $30M.
