Block 37 Foreclosed? The Deal Sheet

A consortium of banks led by Bank of America filed suit to foreclose on Block 37, less than a month from the opening of the retail shopping strip along State Street.
 
The project is now 70% leased, with clients like Zara, Puma, Anthropologie, and Steve Madden intending to open in time for holiday shopping. The landlord, Joseph A. Freed and Associates, calls the foreclosure a "serious breach of trust with the people of the City of Chicago" and says it will fight the suit.
