Some Roosevelt University students learned to network, while many professionals re-learned, at last night's Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women's Speed Networking event at 190 S LaSalle. We snapped Roosevelt student Peggy Kimble talking to Valerio DeWalt Train'sChristine McGrath, and HSBC Finance's Jillian Haynes. Using their networks to come up with new ideas, Christine just finished theWorld of Whirlpool space for the dishwasher company's River North HQ, and Jillian helped her company find a way to buy up foreclosed homes.
Forest Partners' Karin Kraai and Zeller Realty Group's Janine O'Brien first networked with each other 20 years ago in their office leasing jobs. Karin launched her own company in 2009 and is about to announce a partnership with a major national client. Janine manages Zeller's CBD portfolio leasing and says the company is cash rich and looking to acquire in major markets throughout the US.
 

Mary Jo Graf, formerly a biz dev and marketing pro for construction and architecture firms, gave advice to Loebl Schlossman Hack'sAshley Tucker and Conopco's Lisa Shulz on how to move up in their firms. LSH's healthcare division has taken off since it started last May, completing the cancer center on the eighth floor of Rush University Hospital and currently planning the 10th floorneuroscience center. Conopco is nominated for two awards at tonight's Greater Chicago Food Depository Awards, one for Project Manager of the Year and the other for Innovative Deal of the Year.
