| Magellan has found a hotel for the first 18 floors of the Aqua Tower. Partnering with the Carlson Group, Magellan will open a 334-room Radisson Blu in fall of 2011. The upscale brand of hotel is already popular in Europe and Asia, where it has 155 locations. This is the flagship Blu for North America. Magellan's David Carlins says the operator was hesitant to start building out until most of the condo and hotel units on upper floors were sold (apartments are now 99% leased, and condos 87% sold). All three elements will share the common area amenities, including pools and the fitness center. |
