Country met city at yesterday's Illinois Development Council  and CoreNet cocktail hour at the Hilton in Lisle, when we spotted Vandalia Economic Development's JoAnn Sasse Givens with Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning's Brian Rademacher  and Paul Reise.  Paul has been busy working on the GoTo2040 plan, a follow-up to the Burnham plan, as well as doing research to help each Cook County municipality realize the best property types for growth.

Looks like Park Ridge Economic Development's Kim Uhlig (right) already has on eye on the future, even though she's just finished work on a new 75k-SF transit-oriented development in Uptown Park Ridge, with PRC Ltd, James Construction, Valenti Builders, and Mid-America. With a good mix of local and national businesses, she says some companies have doubled their size in the new space. She's joined by Union Pacific Railroad's Wayne Borg and Peoria Economic Development's Vickie Clark.
