Why it's huge: After years in purgatory, CIM has done the impossible and turned Block 37 into a retail destination. Now the group wants to enter the already crowded downtown multifamily pipeline. At a planned 34 stories and 694 units, it's the largest apartment tower project in the Loop in several decades.
