5 Bars To Watch The Big Game Sunday

Super Bowl 50 is this Sunday. While many of us will either watch the game at home (or avoid the spectacle altogether) we know some of you will want to be part of a bigger crowd. Here are five sports bars you should check out.

1. Bull & Bear

Where: 431 N Wells

What to expect: Enjoy upscale bar noshes and table taps in the booths of this River North sports bar, lined with flat screens and a scrolling ticker.

Nearby Developments: Bull & Bear is walking distance from three of the Big Four developments along the Chicago River: 150 North Riverside, River Point and Wolf Point West.

2. Crew Bar + Grill

Where: 4804 N Broadway

What to expect: Chicago's premier gay sports bar boasts 24 hi-def TVs and over 60 beers on its menu.

Nearby Developments: Uptown is the epicenter of Cedar Street's multifamily developments in Chicago. Its Flats Chicago developments are scattered nearby.

3. Old Town Social

Where: 455 W North Ave

What to expect: An upscale parlor feel permeates this spacious bar, complemented by one of the best housemade hot dogs in Chicago and flat screens hanging from the back bar and walls. Old Town Social is hosting a tasting of rare barrel aged stouts on game day.

Nearby Developments: Old Town Social is a short walk from the newly opened NewCity mixed-use development, and there are plenty of multifamily projects in the works to the east.

4. Public House

Where: 400 N State

What to expect: There's plenty of room to stretch in this two-floor, 10k SF space. You can't miss the game here as Public House has an 84" HD video wall and 27 plasma-screen TVs.

5. The Scout

Where: 1301 S Wabash

What to expect: Catch all the action and argue about the commercials as the game will be on a majority of the 34 flat screens at this South Loop sports bar.
