Aries Capital chairman and CEO Neil Freeman wants to close $100M in hotel deals each of the next two years, but not in traditional hotel refinancing. Aries has several construction projects in the works, including a new hotel near the Apple HQ in Cupertino, Calif., a 130-room mixed-use project in suburban Naperville, and three hotels about to close in Texas. Neil tells us he sees a trend of new hotels popping up where no one thought to put them—like major college campusesor business-friendly suburbs.
