Office, R&D Space Planned For First Street

CV Properties has proposed a 266k SF office and R&D building at 105 West First St, about a half mile from the future HQ of General Electric. According to a letter of intent filed with the Boston Planning and Development Agency, the building would also include first-floor retail space, as well as “innovation/community work space/gallery uses or other uses which will activate the ground floor and pedestrian realm.”

The project would require the 42k SF site to be rezoned. The developer has the parcel under contract, the Boston Business Journal reports. A building used by telecom company RCN-BecoCom now occupies the site. [BBJ]
