The Seaport has attracted another health insurance giant.
Humana plans to house up to 250 employees at a 40K SF office it will lease at 281 Summer St., the Louisville, Kentucky-based insurer announced Monday. The center for digital health and analytics, dubbed Humana Studio H, will focus on discovering new products and services and developing them for use across the entire company. A team focused on senior health will also be based at the new office.
Humana already employs 40 in the Boston area, and they will be relocated to the Seaport office, the Boston Business Journal reports. The office, near General Electric’s future headquarters, comes amid a rush of office activity in the neighborhood.
Amazon will expand in the Seaport by at least 2,000 jobs at a 430K SF office building in Seaport Square.
Health insurance company MassMutual revealed in February it would increase its Massachusetts workforce by 70%. Part of the growth includes employing 1,000 at a $240M, 300K SF Fan Pier office building.
