Schmoozing Irish Style

Among the crowd of 200 at The Black Rose Pub Thursday, we snapped Bisnow Schmooze event sponsor Hinckley Allen Snyder?s David Connolly engaged in pre-pre-pre St. Pat?s Day revelry with Consigli?s Vance Freymann and Hinckley colleague John Sokul. David says that the law firm repped Blackstone/EOP as local counsel in its purchase last year of 125 and 150 Cambridge Park Dr, an office/R&D building and land near the Alewife T in Cambridge. Hinckley Allen also works with a local private equity fund in acquiring office, multifamily, and hotel debt and properties across the country. The schmooze, scheduled to end at 8pm, went on until at least 9. (When it's time to party we will party hard.)
Creative Office Pavilion?s Chris Cullinane and Eric Greene say that they worked some of their furnishing magic for the Isabella Stewart Gardner?s $140M addition recently unveiled to the public. To complement the addition?s Renzo Piano contemporary lines, Creative Office chose a lot of sleek bright red and orange seating and accents. Eric says they were still installing some accoutrements last weekend, with more to come in the next two weeks.

Last week, Winthrop  announced that it paid $128M for the $140M mortgage loan on One South State St in Chicago in a JV with Elad Canada. The iconic Louis Sullivan building was the longtime Carson Pirie Scott flagship. It has been redeveloped and will soon house a Target  and DSW. Kara says that ICON architects recently completed the design of One Webster in Chelsea, a 130-unit multifamily and retail project, for Synergy Development and Investment. It also designed Appleton Mills, developed by Trinity Financial in Lowell.
Cummings Properties' Robb LaBossiere and Lars Carlson tell us that the giant suburban office developer/owner recently purchased the former Parker Brothers HQ in Beverly. They paid $2.1M for the 100k SF facility, which sits on 54 acres with Rte 128 frontage. Translation: major development potential, since few large stretches of land are available on the beltway. Several years ago in the same North Shore town, Cummings redeveloped the nearly 2M SF United Shoe building into an office campus. Fun fact: last year, CEO Bill Cummings and his wife announced that they will donate half of their personal fortune, $900M, to charity. They amassed it developing and managing CRE.
