Carol Carbonaro, EVP Leasing, New England Development

As New England Development continues to roll out a major outlet initiative, Carol is spearheading the leasing effort from advising on-site acquisition to choosing a tenant roster, dealmaking with retailers, conducting lease negotiations, holding grand openings and everything in between. In 2014, NED opened properties in West Palm Beach, FL. This coming year, NED plans to open outlet malls in North Carolina and Arkansas (where there are none). In Westwood, the company is building University Station with a new 500k SF retail center with anchors Target and Wegmans as part of a 130-acre plan that includes housing and a hotel (flag now being finalized). In ’86, Carol started in real estate and in ’93 found her way to NED thanks to Joyce Storm who also became a mentor. Advice: Take on risks; find a good mentor like Joyce; and network, network, network.
