Three Fun Stories Out of Camden Yards

1) 10-Year-Old Camden Yards Visits Namesake

When your last name is Yards and your first name is Camden and you’re headed to a game at Camden Yards, VIP treatment seems in order. It also helps that Camden (snapped with Artemis Properties’ Dave Johnson) is the son of a broker (CBRE Cincinnati's Scott Yards) who helped bring Kao Corp to 100 N Charles, the Downtown skyscraper owned by Artemis Properties, the real estate company of Orioles owner Peter Angelos. Cam and fam got a backstage tour of the stadium, including the broadcast booth, and watched batting practice from the field and the game from a suite. He also got an Adam Jones-autographed ball and a meeting with Buck Showalter.

2) Blue Angels Flyby

On Friday as the Blue Angels warmed up for their Saturday and Sunday Star-Spangled Spectacular Air Show appearances, ColumbiaNational Real Estate Finance’s Susan Cleaver snapped the Navy pilots from Oriole Park. If only mortgage contracts proceeded in such an orderly fashion.

3) Return of the Whales

This morning, St. John Properties rededicated the 260- by 20-foot mural on the 55k SF 600 W Hamburg St, across from the stadiums. The nonprofit Wyland Foundation (for the preservation of oceans, waterways, and marine life) created Extinct Atlantic Gray Whales, No. 46 in its 100 “whaling walls” painted around the world, in '93, and St. John hired Mural Masters to restore it.
