| One World Trade Center—formerly known as Freedom Tower—has risen to 260 feet above street level and should stand 50 stories by year end, the Port Authority reports in its latest construction update. |
| The building, which will be the tallest in the US by its anticipated '13 completion, is now 26-stories high. Once finished, it will be 1,776 feet tall with 2.9M RSF of Class A office space in 104 stories. To give you a sense of scale, more than 67k cubic yards of concrete has already been poured for the SOM-designed tower—and that exceeds the amount used to build the Empire State Building. The column-free floorplates range from 30.4k SF to 46.4k SF, and are being marketed by Cushman & Wakefield's Tara Stacom and Allan Stein. Tenant China Center New York has already taken 191k SF—other commitments include the NYS Office of General Services and the US General Services Administration. |
