Upscale Tower Sets Groundbreaking In Rainey District

A swanky new condo building rising 35 stories is set to break ground in the Rainey Street district. 70 Rainey will include a street-level restaurant and garage that will accommodate some public parking.

The timing of construction has not yet been determined, but it will take 24 to 26 months to complete, according to the Austin Business Journal.

The project will be unique for Austin, with each condo rotated 14 degrees from the base, and each floor plan shaped like a parallelogram. The silhouette was designed to allow each condo the same optimal view.

The building will comprise 164 residential condos, all with balconies, eight levels of parking, an amenity deck and a ground-floor restaurant. [ABJ]
