The City of San Antonio and Bexar County plan to offer several Downtown sites for mixed-use development. The sites will encompass more than seven acres between City Hall and Market Square; the city hopes this will spur new investment along the San Pedro Creek.
The city is issuing Requests for Interest for the Downtown projects today, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. The first RFI will be for two lots owned by the city and another lot owned by the county that is a large parking lot. They're looking for mixed-use proposals that ideally include a residential component.
The second RFI encompasses the 35k SF historic former Continental Hotel on West Commerce Street, owned by the city. For this lot, the city is hoping for mixed-use proposals that include workforce housing. [SABJ]
