The foodie revolution supplier is expanding in Fairburn.

FreshPoint, the produce distribution division of food supplier giant Sysco, has inked a 100k SF deal at South Creek, the industrial complex off Oakley Industrial Boulevard. Specifically, FreshPoint is securing the remaining space at Building 1, which is also occupied by Mobis Parts America, which itself moved there in 2012, back-filling space vacated by Owens Corning. The 10-year deal was brokered by NAI Brannen Goddard's Brad Pope, Mike Chambers and Jack Haden, DCT's Nick Faber and The Stephen W. Wright Co's Stephen Wright, who was unavailable for comment. The firm is moving from a smaller facility in Forest Park, Brad tells us.

NAI Brannen Goddard's Nathan Anderson and Darren Butler (in the middle) and Nick with DCT (far right, with Lee & Associates' Mike Sutter rounding out the foursome during a recent golf game) also secured a big industrial deal—this time in Norcross. Industrial parts maker Zurn Industries inked a 160,400 SF, seven-year lease at 6280 Best Friend Rd, a 262,200 SF distribution center. CBRE's Chris Irby brokered for Zurn.

The two latest deals are just part of a larger trend of a strong and steady Atlanta industrial market, which saw more than 4M SF of space leased during Q2, helping push vacancy rates (now 8.4%) to their lowest level since 2001, according to a recent Colliers International report. Other big deals so far this year include a 1.2M SF Google Fiber data center repair facility in Fairburn, and Smucker's' 1M SF deal at Shugart Farms. And this level of activity should continue, with another 3M to 4M SF inking during the end of 2015, Colliers reports. The only word of caution from Colliers has to do with the advent of new supply: Nearly 5M SF of new industrial product has broken ground this past quarter.
