Petco Prompts Ackerman To Put Braselton On Market

It took some dogs and cats to help fill Ackerman & Co's Braselton distribution center. The firm inked a deal with Petco for nearly 200k SF at Braselton 85 Distribution Center, bringing the 440k SF facility to 100% occupancy. CBRE's Trey Barry and Mark Hawks brokered the lease for Ackerman; it gives the pet supply retailer some 700k SF of distribution space in the area.

Ackerman purchased the facility in 2014 from Sealy & Co, but fully leasing it now means it plans to send it back out for sale, company officials say. Ackerman has tapped CBRE to sell the property. The deal also better positions Ackerman to start its planned 1M SF spec project nearby in Braselton, as Ackerman's Kris Miller previously told us.
