A Second Fairway Headed to Brooklyn

Brooklyn will be getting a new Fairway location at 2149 Ralph Ave. The chain just signed a 20-year deal for 40k SF at the Georgetown Shopping Center in Bergen Beach. This second site will be replacing a Waldbaum's supermarket, The Real Deal reports. CEO Jack Murphy says that this location "will have a smaller footprint and lower cost structure" than other stores. Fairway's first Brooklyn site in Red Hook (pictured) reopened in 2013 after damages from Hurricane Sandy forced it to close temporarily. [TRD]
