Co-working industry leader WeWork is expanding its business into the wellness sector.

It has launched a WeWork Wellness app and a series of pop-up fitness classes for both members and nonmembers in unused spaces in its offices in recent months, Quartz reports. Beyond that, the company has gone so far as to open a permanent workout space at its 85 Broad St. location in Manhattan.

Although the co-working industry is continually growing more competitive, WeWork is committed to remaining aggressive to maintain its position as an industry leader. With fitness centers considered one of the most desirable amenities in office and multifamily real estate, it stands to reason that a company that desires to change what it means to be a landlord would seek to integrate fitness and wellness into its brand.
