Hollywood Talent Agency Leases 101K SF At Empire State Building
A talent agency known for its star-studded client list is moving into New York City’s most iconic building.
United Talent Agency has signed a lease for 101K SF across four floors of the Empire State Building, according to a release.
The Hollywood-based agency's client list includes Timothée Chalamet, Guns N' Roses, Bad Bunny and LeBron James via a partnership with the basketball star's Klutch Sports Group.
“Our move to one of New York City's most iconic landmarks is a reflection of UTA's continued growth and our long-term commitment to New York as a global epicenter of culture, creativity, and business,” UTA Chief Operating Officer Bob Roback said in a statement.
NYC is home to 10 of UTA’s departments, including its filmed entertainment, music, sports and brand advisory segments.
UTA will consolidate the 81K SF it occupies across three buildings into its space at the 2.7M SF, 102-story skyscraper, the New York Post reported.
Asking rents at the Empire State Realty Trust-owned tower on Fifth Avenue were $96 per SF. The tower was 96.1% leased by the end of the first quarter, according to the Post, up from 94% two years ago.
JLL’s Mitchell Konsker, Benjamin Bass and Harrison Potter represented UTA in negotiations. ESRT's Jordan Berger, Shanae Ursini and Kerry Lavelle represented the landlord in-house, alongside Newmark’s Scott Klau, Erik Harris, Neil Rubin, Brent Ozarowski, Zachary Weil and Cole Gendels.
Other leases ESRT announced Monday across its 8M SF NYC portfolio include a 26K SF agreement with Instacart at 111 W. 33rd St. and a 30K SF lease with Infinium Wall Systems at 1359 Broadway.
The deals come on the heels of the best first half of leasing for Manhattan office landlords since 2002. Companies signed nearly 23M SF of leases in the first half, pushing asking rents up 5.7% year-over-year, according to Colliers.
