Two Sigma Investments, a tech investment firm, will take 9,200 SF as the first tenant at The Bridge at Cornell Tech, the office portion of the Cornell Tech campus under construction on Roosevelt Island (shown above, when Bisnow toured the site in late 2015).

Between 15 and 18 organizations will ultimately take spaces of 10k SF or less in the building, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Two Sigma is calling the space a “collision lab,” its term for a space where engineers from its R&D team will work away from its main campus and have access to talent at the larger campus.

The Bridge at Cornell Tech opens its doors in September as the office portion of the larger Cornell Tech campus. The campus will include residential and academic space as well as retail space to support those uses.

Forest City Ratner, the developer of The Bridge, has about 40% of the building’s 242k SF SF pre-leased to Cornell Tech itself. CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, Evan Haskell, David Caperna, Evan Fiddle, Sacha Zarba and Ross Zimbalist repped Forest City Ratner Cos. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Neil Goldmacher and Josh Friedman repped Two Sigma.
