Mic in Talks for Space on 82nd Floor of 1WTC

The media company Mic is in talks to take space on the 82nd floor of One World Trade Center.

If the deal is finalized, it’ll be just the latest in a string of media companies making the move from Midtown to Lower Manhattan, including Conde Nast, Time Inc and most recently, Observer Media and Vox Media, reports The Real Deal.

Whatever the reasons for Mic’s possible move, rent savings don’t look to be among them. Rents on upper floors of the building can reportedly hit $100/SF, which is around double the average take for office space in the neighborhood. The building’s leasing, headed up by Cushman & Wakefield’s Tara Stacom, is coming along, with TAMI tenants like adX doubling its space last month, to over 80k SF. [TRD]
