Move Over, WeWork: Bloomingdale's To Be Largest Tenant At Tishman Speyer's LIC Office Project

Tishman Speyer’s massive office project at 28-10 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City has secured Bloomingdale’s to take 550k SF.

The retailer will join WeWork, which is taking 250k SF, among the tenants that have committed to approximately 800k SF of pre-leased space at the project, which when finished will be comprised of two office towers covering 1.1M SF, reports Crain's.

Earlier this week, the developer announced it was proceeding with the project and had leased 550k additional SF, but didn’t say who would be taking that space.

Bloomingdale’s is owned by Macy’s, which signed a 250k SF lease for The Factory last August at 30-30 47th Ave, also in Long Island City. That space will be used by some of the struggling company’s in-house photography studio and set space.

28-10 Queens Plaza South will have a total of 40k SF of retail space (as of now, none of it to be occupied by Bloomingdale’s).

It’s on pace to break ground in early 2017. Tishman Speyer announced this week that Qatari investment firm Qatari Diar will join the project as a JV partner. [Crain’s]
