ASCAP Moving Offices To Billionaire's Row

One of the most powerful unions for creatives in New York City is moving offices to one of the most newly prestigious streets in the city.

ASCAP, or the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, has signed a lease at 250 West 57th St. to occupy 85K SF spread among four floors, the New York Post reports. The trade group will take its place on Billionaire's Row, a few blocks south of its current office at 1900 Broadway.

Across the street from ASCAP's new office, Extell Development's Central Park Tower is under construction. The supertall project has not been fully funded, and Extell's other Billionaire's Row supertall, One57, has seen its share of struggles, but West 57th Street is still home to some of the most expensive residential buildings in the United States.

Although 250 West 57th St. does not measure up in terms of swank to its residential neighbors, it does have a renovated lobby, facade and elevator system. ASCAP will occupy space on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 20th floors, paying $67 per SF on the lower three floors and $74 per SF on its uppermost floor, according to the Post.

ASCAP was represented by Mary Ann Tighe, Ken Meyerson, Robert Hill and Brendan Herlihy of CBRE in signing its long-term lease, and building owner Empire State Realty Trust was represented in-house and by the Cushman & Wakefield team of Harry Blair, Sean Kearns and Heather Thomas.
