LEASING NEWS

Saddle Creek Corp has signed a lease for 416k SF of distribution space at the CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Elwood and will take up occupancy in Q3. The new tenant's lease includes 7,000 SF of office space with 57 exterior doors. NAI Hiffman's Daniel Leahy and Adam Roth represented owner CenterPoint Properties. Grubb & Ellis' Jack Cozzie and Jim Cummings with and Phoenix Realty Group's Ladson Montgomery repped Saddle Creek.

Cushman & Wakefield's Lenora Adds and Steve Holmberg will lead the leasing team in its new assignment at The Monroe Building at 104 S Michigan Ave. The 1912 building designed by Holabird & Roche's Martin Roche is being restored. Pritzker Military Library is the anchor tenant. The building is owned and managed by J&J ARNACO and 125k SF of the building's 220k SF is available for lease.

Saks Inc recently signed a lease for 26k SF at Village Square of Northbrook in Northbrook to open its third Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th store in Chicagoland. The newly designed store is set to open in November. Mid-America is the exclusive leasing rep for the 335k SF shopping center. Mid-America's Liz Krebs repped the owner while Colliers' Marlon Stone repped the tenant.

Paine/Wetzel • ONCOR International's Ed Barnett and William Berndt repped new tenant Maritz Holdings in an 18k SF lease at 8600 W Bryn Mawr at Presidents Plaza. Glen Star Properties' David Trumpy repped the landlord, PR II Presidents Plaza JV.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

The Berwyn Development Corp celebrated the opening of Paisans Pizzeria & Restaurant late last month. Paisans redeveloped a vacant industrial building at 6226 Ogden Ave into a 20k SF facility featuring a dining area, delivery call center, banquet rooms, and a manufacturing/storage area for Paisans' products to be the chain's HQ. Berwyn Development Corp helped the owners get TIF incentives.

EXECUTIVE MOVES

Mark Saturno has joined The McShane Cos as COO. Mark will office in the firm's HQ in Rosemont and provide management of the operations, finances, acquisition, leasing and disposition activities. He is 25-year veteran of the real estate development industry, previously serving as managing director, central region at AMB Property Corp. Mark earned a BS in accounting from the University of Illinois and a master's from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Mark Anderson has been named national security liaison for Jones Lang LaSalle's property management business in addition to his current role as director of security at 71 S Wacker. Mark will work with national and local government agencies like the Department of Homeland Security on real estate security and safety. He will also be a member of the Homeland Security Task Force for the Real Estate Roundtable. He joined Jones Lang LaSalle in 2004 as director of security for the Museum of Science and Industry.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS

ARCO/Murray National Construction Co completed the renovation of 175k SF at 115 E Crossroads in Bolingbrook for Vistar/ Performance Foods Groups. The facility consists of a 15k SF of -10 degree freezer, 6,000 SF of 36-degree cold dock, and more than 10k SF of office space. The building is owned by IDI. ARCO/Murray's Brad Dannegger was the project executive with Leonidas Stellakis as the lead project manager.

The Missner Group was selected for a 22k SF build-out for Catalyst Exhibits' new 145k SF warehouse/office/production location at 7809 100th St in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. Catalyst is moving to Southeast Wisconsin due to a State of Wisconsin incentive package. The office area includes four conference rooms and will feature a loft-style design with exposed ceilings, high-end lighting, and the use of glass and stainless elements. The Missner Group's Glen Missner is the project executive for the build-out and Jess Knigge will manage the project. Harris Architects provided the architectural services

JC Anderson completed a 15k SF office build-out for the new offices of Farmers Insurance in Lisle. The new office for the HelpPoint Claims Service located at 4225 Naperville Rd in Central Park of Lisle. This is a relocation and consolidation of the company's offices from Aurora, Orland Park, and Rolling Meadows. The project included the construction of new private offices, interview rooms and a training room as well as conference rooms, an LAN room and break room. JC Anderson's Bruce Sturgis is the project executive. Architectural services were provided by Whitney Architects and Kent Consulting Engineers were the project engineers.

Gallant Building Solutions is building a 2,900 SF ground-up White Castle restaurant located in Elk Grove. The free-standing fast food chain will replace an existing food place and feature a drive-thru and an underground detention system. Construction will be finished in early 2012.

SALES NEWS

GCR Corp acquired 705 Enterprise St, a 221k SF industrial property in Aurora from JVC America, the Japanese corporation's US branch, for $6.2M. NAI Hiffman's Eric Tresslar repped GCR and CB Richard Ellis repped JVC America.

Kudan Group's Jim Martin and Marcus Sullivan represented the seller in the business sale of Elm Street Liquors at 12 West Elm. The 2,500 SF Gold Coast space sits between Rush and Dearborn.
